What is High Power Rocketry?

The Georgia Tech High Power Rocketry group enables members to create and launch their own high power rockets, as well as get certified in high power rocketry with the National Association of Rocketry.

Typically, you will start with building a Level 1 rocket, which uses a motor of class H or I. This is a good way to introduce yourself with the basic concepts of rocketry, such as stability and thrust-to-weight ratio, as well as the manufacturing process. After this, you can go on to build a Level 2 rocket, which uses a motor of class J, K or L. These are more complex vehicles which typically include electronics, and may include more advanced materials such as fiberglass or carbon fiber.

We attend several launches each year, up to once a month. Expect to see us at HARA launches, ROSCO launches, and SEARS launches!
